Leprosy Patients

Objectives of the Program

To provide financial assistance to Zakat-deserving widows and double parent orphans (parentless).
To promote economic empowerment, self-reliance, and social dignity among them.
To ensure transparent, fair and merit-based utilization of Zakat Funds.

Scope and Coverage

The program shall be applicable across the entire Province of Punjab.
Financial assistance shall be provided to eligible widows and double parent orphans
Through this program financial assistance shall be provided @ Rs. 100,000 per widow,
Double parent orphans (Parentless) shall also be eligible to apply and an amount of Rs. 100,00 shall be provided to each child.

Eligibility Criteria

Needy and poor Muslim widows and parentless orphans eligible to receive Zakat under Shariah.
Should not be a habitual beggar
Should not be a Government servant or pensioner
Should not be a Sahib-e-Nisab
Should not be receiving regular financial assistance from any other scheme of Government of the Punjab.

Procedure

Beneficiary shall apply through a dedicated Mobile App and Web Portal of Zakat & Ushr Department or Help line 1077 .
Provision of updated & valid CNIC reflecting the status of Widow
“B-Form” of the child shall be provided.

Allocation and Selection

Budget shall be allocated to District Zakat Committees on the basis of population.
For selection of beneficiaries, database of Punjab Socio Economic Registry (PSER) shall be utilized.
Final selection of beneficiaries shall be made through Proxy Means Test (PMT) of PSER to ensure meritocracy and transparency.
